DECORAH, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (3-3-3) got a pair of goals from
Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) in a 2-1 win at Luther (4-2-1) on Saturday.
Klitzke got the Pointers the lead in the 12th minute with her second goal of the season.
Kayce Wadas (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) had the assist on the goal.
Luther got level in the 22nd minute on a UWSP own goal. The Norse nearly took the lead in the 60th minute, but hit the crossbar.
The match remained tied until the final seconds. Klitzke netted the game-winner with just five seconds remaining in the match, her second of the game.
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West) had an assist on the game-winner.
Shea Lucas (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) played the first half in goal and made three saves.
Erika Panella (Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine) played the second half and had one save.
The Pointers are back home on Sunday (Sept. 21) for a 3:00 p.m. match against Wartburg.
