RIPON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (6-1-0) scored in the opening minute and never looked back in a 4-0 win at Ripon (4-2-1) on Wednesday under the lights.
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) scored his first of the match just 57 seconds after the opening whistle.
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) had an assist on the eventual game-wining goal.
Noah Johnson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) getting his first assist of the night.
In the 39th minute, a Ripon own goal gave the Pointers a 3-0 lead at the break.
Buckley scored his second of the night in the 49th minute with Urban picking up another assist.
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) played 72:39 and was untested.
Noah Grieshaber (Normal, Ill./University) made the only save needed for the Pointers in the 84th minute.
UWSP will host Monmouth on Saturday (Sept. 20) at 4:00 p.m.
