STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (1-0-0) put on a dominating display in a 2-0 home win over Lakeland (0-1) in the season opener.
Vincent Bianco (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton) scored his first career goal, the eventual game-winner in the 38th minute to put UWSP ahead.
Early in the second half,
Devin Wilkerson (La Crosse, Wis./Central) found the back of the net on a nice feed from
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) as UWSP took a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute.
Wilkerson nearly notched a brace in the 52nd minute as he rang a shot off the cross bar.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) was untested in the clean sheet as the Pointers outshot Lakeland, 24-2, with the Muskies not having a shot on goal in the match.
The Pointers travel to Madison to face Edgewood on Wednesday (Sept. 3) in a 7:00 p.m. non-conference tilt.
