Griege, Leising, Van Dyke Earn All-WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis. — The UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse team had three athletes receive All-WIAC honors, the league office announced on Thursday (May 8). Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) and Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) earned All-WIAC second team and Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors. Paige Allen (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.

Griege played in 16 of the Pointers' 17 games this season. She made 219 saves on 433 shots on goal this season. On April 23, she became the first in program history to make 300 career saves, in the second year of the program. Griege improved her save percentage to .506 this season. Last season, she was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention and All-Sportsmanship teams.
 
Leising played in 16 of the Pointers' 17 games, and she ended the season with 61 points with 32 goals and 29 assists. In the Pointers' final game, Leising recorded a career-high 13 points, a single game school record and she became the first in program history to record 100 career points. Last season, she was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention team.
 
Van Dyke played in all 17 games, starting in 16 games this season. She ended the season with 48 points with 27 goals and 21 assists. In the Pointers' first win of the season against Franklin College (Mar. 28), she recorded a season-high six points with three goals and three assists. Last season, she was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention team.
 
Allen was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team after starting and playing in all 17 games. She recorded 15 points with six goals and nine assists.
 
The Pointers earned a program-best three wins this season and finished eighth in the 10-team WIAC standings.
