NAPERVILLE, ILL.— The UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse team (0-2) fell to North Central (3-0) by a score of 16-3 on the road.
With 5:39 remaining in the first quarter,
Aubrey Keeping (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) found the back of the net, off an assist from
Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) to bring the Pointers in reach at 3-1.
Early in the second quarter, Van Dyke scored off an assist from
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) to bring the score to 3-2.
In the final minute of the third quarter, Van Dyke scored the Pointers final goal, unassisted, making it 11-3.
North Central went on in the fourth quarter to end the game 16-3.
Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) was in goal, completing 24 saves in 60 minutes of play.
The Pointers are back in action for the home opener Wednesday (Mar. 12) against Marian. Opening draw is set for 6:00 p.m.
