BELOIT, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse team (0-1) opened the season on the road, falling to Beloit (1-0) by a 17-5 final, where
Aubrey Keeping (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) recorded her first collegiate hat trick.
After being down 3-0 early in the first quarter, Keeping found
Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) to make it a 3-1 game.
In the second quarter, Keeping and Van Dyke both found the back of the net, unassisted, to make it 10-3.
With 3:17 remaining in the third quarter, Keeping netted her second unassisted goal of the game to make it 14-4.
Early in the fourth quarter Keeping scored her third unassisted goal.
Ally Schmidli (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) was in goal, completing 16 saves in 60 minutes of play.
The UWSP women's lacrosse team remains on the road, taking on North Central College on Saturday (Mar. 8). Opening draw is set for 10:00 a.m.
