STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (15-6, 5-5) finished the season sweep of UW-Platteville (8-13, 2-8) with a 59-54 win on Saturday.
Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West) led the Pointers in scoring with 16 points.
Gabby Gawlitta (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) led all players with 10 rebounds and she added nine points.

Brenna Gehri (Oshkosh, Wis./West) and
Courtney Krueger (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) each scored a basket as the Pointers started with a 6-3 lead.
Ava Loftus (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) had four points around a Gawlitta and-one.
Keira Maki (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba) and Thomson combined to help UWSP end the first with an 18-11 lead.
Lily Truchon (Herbster, Wis./South Shore) had four points and a late three by Thomson gave the Pointers a 35-25 halftime advantage. Gawlitta scored four points in the third and the lead was cut to 42-37 heading to the fourth.

Karissa Smith (Freedom, Wis./Appleton North) and Thomson each buried a three in the middle of the fourth as the Pointers held off the Pioneers for the win.
The Pointers are home again on Wednesday (Feb. 12) for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against UW-Oshkosh.
