STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (15-7, 5-6) dropped a 60-40 decision to No. 5/7 UW-Oshkosh (21-1, 10-1) on Wednesday night in Berg Gym.
Courtney Krueger (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) led the Pointers in scoring with 13 points, the lone double-figure scorer for the Pointers.
Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West) grabbed a team-best nine rebounds.
Krueger got the Pointers on the board and Thomson hit a jumper as UWSP trailed 7-4.
Ava Loftus (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and
Maija Rice (L'Anse, Mich./L'Anse Area) each made a bucket and the deficit was 18-8 after one.

Gabby Gawlitta (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) had four points each in a 12-0 run as the Pointers pulled even at 20-20 with 5:35 left in the first half.
Lily Truchon (Herbster, Wis./South Shore) made the only basket the remainder of the quarter and UWSP was down, 30-22, at halftime.
Kate Vanden Berg (Appleton, Wis./North) snapped a 9-0 UWO run to start the second half with a layup more than five minutes into the third. Thomson had four points late, but the Pointers were behind by a 48-32 margin heading to the fourth.
Krueger scored seven of UWSP's eight points in the fourth as UWSP couldn't dent the deficit.
The Pointers travel to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Feb. 15) for the final regular season road game. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
