STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (12-11-1, 6-4-1) prevailed in the finale to finish the season series sweep of UW-Superior (9-12-2, 1-9-0) with a 4-3 win in overtime.
The Pointers fell into an early hole as the Yellowjackets scored just 20 seconds into the game.
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) tied the game at 7:53 of the first with
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) getting assists.
UWS retook the lead at 10:20 of the first.
Avery Engbrecht (Winona, Minn./Winona) pulled the Pointers even again at the 15:39 mark of the first with
Skyler Arneson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) providing the helper.
Early in the second, the Yellowjackets took a one-goal lead for the third time just 52 seconds in.
Leising tied the game again with a power-play goal at 14:30 of the second period.
Soile Doyle (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) had an assist on the play.
Neither team scored in the third period and the game headed to overtime tied at 3-3. Late in the extra session, the Pointers earned a power play. Pohlkamp netted the game-winner with just 50.6 seconds left to seal the series sweep.

Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 36 saves to earn the win. UWS goaltender Molly Black had 23 saves.
The Pointers close out the regular season at home on Saturday (Feb. 15) at 2:00 p.m. against UW-River Falls.
