STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team (15-5, 5-4) finished off the season sweep of UW-River Falls (7-13, 1-8) with a 62-53 home win on Wednesday night.
Josiah Butler (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) led all scorers with 23 points. He also had a game-high six rebounds.
Seth Miron (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) was the only other Pointer in double figures with 10 points.
Butler and
Darrius Bolden (Glendale, Wis./Nicolet) each buried a three to give the Pointers an 8-7 lead.
Logan Baumgartner (Medford, Wis./Medford) and Miron each drilled a three and UWSP was ahead, 14-8.
Cal Krohn (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) hit a triple and Butler added two more from beyond the arc as the Pointers held a 30-29 advantage at the break.
Krohn and Butler each completed an and-one to begin the second half. Butler added seven more points in the half and Miron had four-straight to give the Pointers the lead for good as UWSP pulled away late.
The Pointers travel to league leader UW-Platteville on Saturday (Feb. 8) for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
