GREEN BAY, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team won five of six singles matches for a 5-2 victory over St. Norbert on Sunday.
The Green Knights took an early lead with the doubles team point, taking all three matches.
In singles play,
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) got a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles.
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) took the No. 3 singles match winning the first set in a tiebreak, 7-6 (8), before getting the set two victory, 6-3.
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) needed a super-breaker to win at No. 4 singles. She took the opening set, 6-1. After dropping the second set, she responded with a 10-3 win in the super-breaker.
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) and
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) got straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
UWSP faces Loras and Carroll on Sunday (Feb. 23) in Neenah beginning at 9:00 a.m.
