KENOSHA, Wis. – Three wrestlers won brackets as the UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team finished second in the 16-team Carthage Classic on Sunday.
Results
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) won the 103 bracket going 4-0 on the day. She got two wins by fall and one by tech fall, 17-4, in the title match.
Brooke Schuenemann (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth Comprehensive) took first in the 145 bracket. She went 5-0 with three wins by fall and two by tech fall.
Lana Zimmerman (Cortland, Ill./Dekalb) was third in the bracket with five wins, two by fall and one by decision.
Riley Ensing (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) got two wins in the bracket, one each by fall and decision.
Kate Riege (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead Union) went 4-0 to take top billing in the 207 bracket. She won two decisions, each by one point, and had one win each by fall and tech fall.
Madalyn Sokolski (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) placed second in the 180 bracket. She had four wins on the day, three by fall and another by tech fall.
Madi Zube (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) had three wins in the bracket, two by tech fall and one by fall.
Teagan McKinnie (Buckeye, Ariz./Verrado) got a win by fall in the bracket.
Margaret Gillmore (Bristol, Wis./Westosha Central) took third in the 117 bracket. She got four wins, three by tech fall and one by fall.
Nadia Fuentes (Janesville, Wis./Craig) came in third in the 124 bracket. She had four wins, three by fall, on the day.
Rosemary Triggs (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was eighth in the bracket with one win by fall.
Cera Philson (Thorp, Wis./Thorp) was fourth in the 131 bracket. She got a pair of 10-0 tech fall wins.
Addison Gratz-Maag (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) took eighth with a pair of wins by fall.
Margaret Zuber finished fourth in the 138 bracket. She had two wins by fall and one by decision.
Micahlee Skjerly (Barron, Wis./Barron) earned a win by fall in the bracket.
Katelyn Nosbisch got ninth in the 160 bracket. She had four wins, three by fall, on the day.
