STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (4-4-1, 2-1-1) scored two goals in each period in a 6-0 win over Beloit (2-5-1, 1-3-0).
Cody Pisarczyk (Airdria, Alberta) opened the scoring at 4:11 of the first period.
Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) and
Michael Eftimovski (Toronto, Ont.) had assists on the eventual game-winner.
Alec Hamady (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) scored his first of the night and first goal of the season at 12:03 of the first. Pisarczyk and
Joseph Manning (Stillwater, Minn.) had assists.
Gabe Randel (Hortonville, Wis.) netted his first goal of the game at 2:54 of the second period.
Sean Bunting (Phoenix, Ariz.) and
Camden Markham (Houghton, Mich.) assisted on the goal for a 3-0 lead.
Forty seconds later,
Ryan Hintz (Rockford, Ill.) pushed the lead to 4-0. Pisarczyk notched his third point of the game and
Bennett Koupal (Sioux Falls, S.D.) also had an assist.
In the third period, Hamady put his second goal in the net at the 1:54 mark.
Turner Richards (Minocqua, Wis.) and
Quinton Hill (Coquitlam, B.C.) had assists.
Randel completed the scoring with a shorthanded goal at 4:02 of the third period. Koupal added his second assist of the night the first shorthanded goal of the year for the Pointers.
UWSP goaltender
Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) recorded the shutout with 17 saves. Beloit goaltender Andrew Yocum made 43 saves.
The Pointers host UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Dec. 12) for the final home game of the calendar year. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
