WHEATON, Ill.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming teams opened day one of the Wheaton Invitational where the men are currently in second place with a score of 403 and the women in fourth place with a score of 257.
Day One Results
The men are led by
Wyatt Gross (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) and
Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial).
Gross won the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:55.13. He also took third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.33.
Jenn took second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.81.
The 200-freestyle relay team of
Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest),
Shawn Denis (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander),
Jakson Wagner (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area) and
Matthew Loy (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) took third place with a time of 1:24.05.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Jenn, Gross, Denis and Barwick took second place with a time of 3:24.24.
The women are led by
Hollyn Ambre (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) and
Anna Scheglowski (Northfield, Minn./Northfield).
Ambre finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:21.16.
Scheglowski took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.17. She also finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.49.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Bailey Vincer (Byron, Ill./Byron), Scheglowski, Ambre and
Maddy Magle (Sheboygan, Wis./Kohler) took third place with a time of 1:39.65.
The 400-yard medley relay team of
Katie Shaw (Madison, Wis./West),
Meghan Spence (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan Falls), Magle and Scheglowski finished fourth with a time of 4:07.77.
The Pointers return to day two of the Wheaton Invitational tomorrow (Dec. 6) with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m.
