STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (3-4-1, 1-1-1) got a pair of power-play goals, but settled for a 2-2 tie against visiting UW-Stout (4-2-1, 1-1-1).
The Blue Devils scored at 12:43 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead to the first intermission.
Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) netted a power-play goal, his first of the season, at 2:41 of the second period to tie the game at 1-1.
Hunter O'Brien (Cambridge, Ont.) and
Owen Dean (Calgary, Alberta) had assists.
Sean Bunting (Phoenix, Ariz.) gave the Pointers a 2-1 lead with another power-play goal at 5:48 of the second. O'Brien and Dean again had helpers and UWSP held a 2-1 lead heading to the third.
Stout got a power-play goal at 2:28 of the third period to tie the game. Neither team scored the remainder of regulation or in overtime.
In the shootout, the Blue Devils converted on the first and third attempts to take the extra point winning the shootout, 2-0.

The Pointers host Beloit for the first time on Saturday (Dec. 6). Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
