STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (6-3-0, 1-2-0) fell by a 5-0 final to visiting No. 12 UW-Eau Claire (8-2-0, 3-0-0) in conference play on Thursday.
The Blugolds got a power-play goal at 6:25 of the first period to take a lead they would not relinquish. UWEC made it 2-0 with just 27.7 seconds remaining in the first period.
The Pointers battled through the second period holding the Blugolds off the board until the 16:28 mark.
In the third period, the Blugolds scored at 2:14 and added another power-play goal at 16:28 to complete the scoring.
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) led the way for the Pointers recording five of the 12 shots on goal for UWSP.
Natalie Ahern (Byron, Minn./Byron) and
Grace Torma (Centerville, Minn./Centennial) added two shots each.

Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 46 saves in the game. UWEC goaltender Kambelle Freije had 12 saves.
The Pointers head to Beloit for a weekend series beginning on Friday (Dec. 5) with a 2:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
