STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-4-0) fell in the weekend opener against Concordia (Wis.) (10-1-0) by a 5-0 final on Saturday.
The Falcons opened the scoring at 7:21 of the first period. CUW took a 2-0 lead at 17:33 of the first.
CUW scored once in the second and two more goals in the third to account for all the scoring.
Amanda Pouchnik (Viola, Idaho/Moscow) had a team-high three shots on goal for the Pointers.

Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) made 39 saves. CUW goaltender Gretchen Paaverud stopped 15 shots for the shutout.
The Pointers and Falcons finish the weekend series on Sunday (Dec. 14) at 3:00 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena.
