STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling coach
Jake Wozniak announced the hire of Pointers' alumni Brooke Thurber as an assistant coach.
Thurber is no stranger to the UWSP women's wrestling program. She was a three-time All-American for the Pointers, including a third-place finish at nationals in 2019, the first year of the program. She reached nationals in 2021 and 2022 taking seventh both of those seasons.
She went 27-6 in 2019, the second-most wins in a season and second-best single-season winning percentage in program history. In her three seasons at UWSP, one shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic, she racked up a 50-15 record, the highest career winning percentage in the history of the program.
Thurber graduated from UWSP in 2022 with a degree in health promotion and wellness and physical education. She completed her master's degree in educational administration in May 2025 at Concordia (Wis.).
