FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-7-1) fell to UW-Superior (8-6-2) in non-conference play to close out play at the Fondy Pot Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Yellowjackets took a 1-0 lead at the 3:02 mark of the first period. UWSP goaltender Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) kept the deficit at one with five more saves in the first period.
 
UWS doubled the lead just 57 seconds into the second period. Again Beck held the deficit there for the remainder of the period, making 20 saves in the second stanza.
 
The Yellowjackets tacked on three goals in the third period, one an empty-netter, to complete the scoring.
 
Beck had 32 total saves in the game. UW-Superior goaltender Anna Maulson had 24 saves in the win.
 
The Pointers travel to Mequon on Friday (Jan. 10) for a 6:00 p.m. game at Concordia (Wis.).
