MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-8-1) fell at Concordia (Wis.) (13-2-0) by a 3-1 final in non-conference play on Friday.
The host Falcons took a 1-0 lead late in the first period. CUW doubled its lead late in the second with a power-play goal with just 11.2 seconds left.
Freshman
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) got the Pointers on the board at 11:18 of the third period with an unassisted goal. It was her team-leading ninth of the season.
The Falcons finished the scoring at 18:38 of the third with an empty-net goal.
UWSP goaltender
Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) made 32 saves. CUW goaltender Kami McCardle had 19 saves in the win.
The Pointers return home to take on UW-River Falls on Saturday (Jan. 11). Puck drop is slated for 2:00 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena.
