Seven Pointers Net Goals in Win at Hamline

ST. Paul, Minn. – The No. 12 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (11-4-1) got goals from seven different players in an 8-3 non-conference win at Hamline (5-11-0) on Friday night.
 
Sean Bunting (Phoenix, Ariz.) opened the scoring on the night at 2:19 of the first period. Matthew Falls (Toronto,Ont.) had the assist on the goal.
 
At 3:44 of the first, Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) made it 2-0 off assists from Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) and Andrew Poulias (Whitby, Ont.). Anderson made it a three-goal lead at the 7:13 mark of the first with Chmelevski and Chris Engelbert (Whitby, Ont.) providing assists.
 
Dawson Sciarrino (Greensburg, Pa.)  scored the Pointers' fourth goal in the opening period at 13:07. It was his eighth-consecutive game with a goal scored. Engelbert and Owen Dean (Calgary, Alberta) has assists on the goal.
 
Falls extended the lead to 5-0 with a goal at 7:37 of the second period. Quinton Hill (Coquitlam, B.C.) had an assist on the goal.
 
Hamline broke through with a pair of power-play goals at 12:11 and 13:51 of the second period to make it 5-2.
 
Peyton Hart (Delafield, Wis.) scored a shorthanded goal at 14:23 of the second period. Tyler German (Canton, Mich.) and Michael Eftimovski (Toronto, Ont.) got assists on the play.
 
The Pipers got the first goal of the third period at 1:52 cutting the Pointers' lead in half at 6-3.
 
Hart netted a power-play goal at 5:54 of the third. Dean and Engelbert added assists.
 
Hill completed the scoring on the night with an unassisted shorthanded goal at 15:49 of the third, the sixth Pointer to post a multi-point night.
 
The Pointers conclude non-conference play with a 4:00 p.. game at Saint John's on Saturday (Jan. 18).
