Klitzke Nets Second-Half Equalizer as Pointers Draw at SMU

WINONA, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (3-4-4) played Saint Mary's (5-2-3) to a 1-1 draw in non-conference play on Sunday in Minnesota.
 
Following a scoreless first half, the host Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute. SMU's lead last almost exactly 20 minutes.
 
In the 68th minute, Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) found the back to the net for the equalizer. Her third of the season was assisted on by Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch).
 
UWSP goalkeeper Erika Panella (Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine) made six saves in the draw. SMU goalkeeper Megan Nadal had three saves.
 
The Pointers begin conference play and wrap up the current four-match road trip on Saturday (Oct. 5) with a 2:00 p.m. match at UW-Stout.
