DUBUQUE, Iowa – The UW-Stevns Point women's tennis team won its season opener at Dubuque by a 6-1 final.
The Pointers swept doubles play by 6-4, 6-3 and 6-4 scores to earn the doubles point.
Freshman
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) rallied for her first collegiate win by super-breaker, 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, at No. 4 singles.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central),
Quinlyn Mack (Prairie Du Sac, Wis./Sauk Prairie) and
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) won their No. 1, 2 and 6 singles matches by identical 6-1, 6-1 scores.
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) won her No. 5 singles by a 7-6 (5), 6-0 score.
UWSP hosts UW-Stout on Friday (Sept. 6) in the home opener beginning at 3:30 p.m.
