STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point athletics has announced the addition of Marissa Nelson to the UWSP Athletics Communications staff.
 
"I am thrilled to add Marissa to my department," stated Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Tim Bohn. "She brings a versatile background and will be a valuable addition to the Pointers family."
 
Nelson comes to UWSP after a number of years working in the sports information department at Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn. There she helped with game day statistics and video streaming of many of the Cardinals' programs.
 
At SMU, Nelson was also a member of the softball team for three seasons battling through injuries. She spent time running the team's social media for two seasons and gained valuable leadership while carrying a full course load.
 
Nelson earned her degree from Saint Mary's in December 2022, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and digital media. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport and recreation management at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
