MYRTLE BEACH, S. C. -- UW-Stevens Point track and field athletes Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) and Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) wrapped up action at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships Thursday afternoon.

In the first round of the 400-meter hurdles, Bartelt finished with a time of 1:04.56 in heat one of her event. She placed seventh in her heat and 19^th overall, missing the auto-qualifying top four rank in her heat by 1.82 seconds.
 
In the first round of the 1500-meter run, Penzkover finished with a time of 3:55.75 in heat one of the event. He finished eighth in his heat and 16^th overall, missing the auto-qualifying top four rank in his heat by 1.47 seconds.
 
The Pointers return to action on Friday (May. 24) with day two of NCAA Nationals. Events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. ET.
