KENOSHA, Wis. – In the penultimate match of the season, the UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team fell at Carthage, 7-2.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) won her No. 1 singles match by a 6-4, 6-3 score. She paired with
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) to earn an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Scharf came up short at No. 2 singles. She dropped the first set in a tiebreak, 7-6 (2). Scharf rebounded to take set two, 6-3. In the super-breaker, she fell by a 10-2 final.
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) and
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) dropped an 8-5 score at No. 2 doubles.
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) and
Katie Meyer (Wausau, Wis./West) fell at No. 3 doubles, 8-3. Leithold and Meyer won five games each at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Pointers close out the season at Concordia (Wis.) on Saturday (April 20). First serve is set for 11:00 a.m.
