STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team defeated Lawrence by a 7-2 final in the Pointers' lone home spring match on Thursday.
Senior
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) won her final home match, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles.
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) took her No. 4 singles match by a 6-2, 6-1 score.
At No. 1 singles,
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) won by a 6-2, 6-3 final.
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) won at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-0.
In doubles play,
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) and
Katie Meyer (Wausau, Wis./West) earned an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles.
Emma Rockweiler (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) and
Jenna Carmean (Muskegon, Wis./Mona Shores) fell in a tiebreak, 8-7 (4), at No. 2 doubles.
The Pointers won by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
UWSP will next play at Cornell on March 30 in a 12:30 p.m. match.
