SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-15-2, 3-8-0) gave up a goal 63 seconds into the game and ended up on the losing end of a 1-0 score at UW-Superior (5-16-1, 2-5-1) on Friday night.
The Yellowjackets scored on just their second shot of the game for a 1-0 lead at the 1:03 mark of the first period.

Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) made 10 more saves in the first period to keep the Pointers within one. Neither team scored in the second as Beck had seven more saves.
The Pointers out-shot the Yellowjackets in the third period, 12-5, but neither team scored. Beck had five more saves for a total of 23 in the game.
UW-Superior goaltender Rose Beeman stopped all 32 UWSP shots.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove),
Katie Stanius (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake),
Grace Torma (Centerville, Minn./Centennial) and
Lauren Wincentsen (Wausau, Wis./West) had four shots each to lead the Pointers.
The Pointers wrap up the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 10) as they face off against the Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. in Superior.
