SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-16-2, 3-9-0) fell in overtime, 3-2, at UW-Superior (6-16-1, 3-5-1) in the regular season finale for the Pointers.
Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 6:17 of the second period.
Laina Berthiaume (South Haven, Minn./Hutchinson) and
Tara Rigan (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) notched assists on the goal.
The Yellowjackets got a power-play goal of their own at 8:06 of the second to tie the game at 1-1.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) gave the Pointers the lead again at 18:31 of the second.
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) had a helper on the play.
UW-Superior tied the game again at the 17:04 mark of the third period. Then in overtime, it took just 35 seconds for the Yellowjackets to net the game-winner.

Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) made 33 saves in the game. Rose Beeman had 26 saves for the Yellowjackets.
The Pointers will await next weekend's WIAC regular season series between UW-Superior and Northland to determine UWSP's seed in the WIAC Tournament. The Pointers will either be the three-seed and travel to UW-Eau Claire for the semifinals beginning Feb. 23 or the four-seed and host Northland on Feb. 20.
