STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-14-1, 3-7-0) earned a 2-1 win on Senior Day to complete the season sweep of Northland (5-15-1, 0-7-1).
 
Josie Bender (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) got the Pointers on the board at 16:27 of the first period, her second goal of the weekend. Her unassisted tally put UWSP in front.

The lead was short-lived as the Lumberjills tied the game just 15 seconds later.
 
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) tipped in a shot at 2:04 of the second period, the eventual game-winner. Kayla Stumo (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) provided the assist with the initial shot from the blue line that Leising tipped.
 
UWSP goaltender Anne Beck (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) earned her second career win with 22 saves. Northland goaltender Corrin Hanson had 42 saves.

The Pointers will close out the home slate on Tuesday (Feb. 6) against Concordia (Wis.). Puck drop at K.B. Willett Arena is set for 7:15 p.m.
