DE PERE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (7-4-1) got a two-point night from senior
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), but fell at St. Norbert (11-2-0) by a 3-2 final in overtime on Saturday.
Leising opened the scoring on the day with a goal just 13 seconds into the opening period.
Natalie Ahern (Byron, Minn./Byron) had an assist on the goal.
The Green Knights tied the game at 10:09 of the first period and the teams were tied 1-1 after one. SNC got a power-play goal at 16:21 of the second period to hold a 2-1 lead heading to the third.
Molly Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd) scored off an assist from Leising at 7:43 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2.
The teams went to overtime tied at 2-2, but the Green Knights scored just 43 seconds into the extra session with another power-play tally.
UWSP goaltender
Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) made 53 saves in the game. SNC goaltender Ashley Ommen had 15 saves in the win.
The Pointers are home on January 2 with a 5:00 p.m. game against Hamline.
