WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (8-8-4) saw its season end with a 4-1 defeat at UW-Whitewater (10-6-4) in the first round of the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's) on Wednesday night.
The Pointers were limited to just four shots on goal in the match, but stayed within striking distance until late.
UWW scored in the 11th minute of the match to give the hosts the lead. UWSP mustered just a single shot in the first half, but trailed just 1-0 at the break.
In the 47th minute, UWW was awarded a penalty kick and the Warhawks converted.
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) go the Pointers on the board in the 56th minute. His goal was the first in UWSP postseason history.
The Warhawks tacked on goals in the 84th and 90th minutes to complete the scoring.

Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) had one save. UWW goalkeeper Matthew Vollmer had three saves I the win.
The Pointers wrap up the inaugural season with eight victories.
Devin Wilkerson (La Crosse, Wis./Central) led the team in scoring with eight goals and 20 points.
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) had a team-high six assists.
