STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 10 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (4-3-0, 1-1-0) got a four-point night from
Joshua German (Waterford, Mich.) in a 5-4 win over UW-Superior (3-2-1, 1-1-0) on Saturday night.
Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) got the Pointers on the board first with a goal at 9:33 of the first period.
Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.) and German each had an assist.
The Yellowjackets tied the game at 13:25 of the first on a turnover in the defensive zone by the Pointers.
Chris Engelbert (Whitby, Ont.) regained the lead for the Pointers at the 15:22 mark of the first. Chmeleveski and German each recorded their second assists of the night.
Peyton Hart (Delafield, Wis.) scored a power-play goal at 17:17 of the first to extend the lead to 3-1.
Ryan Hintz (Rockford, Ill.) and
Dawson Sciarrino (Greensburg, Pa.) got assists on the goal.
Just 15 seconds into the second period, Chmelevski scored to up the lead to 4-1. Anderson and German had assists, the third of the night for German.
UWS scored a shorthanded goal and a power-play goal in the second period. The Yellowjackets tied the game at 4-4 at 11:36 of the third period.
German scored the eventual game-winner at the 13:35 mark of the third period to put the Pointers back in front with an unassisted goal.
UWSP goaltender
Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) made 20 saves in the win. UWS goaltender Jack Boschert and Jan Skorpik combined for 30 saves.
The Pointers return to play on Dec. 6 with a 7:00 p.m. home game against UW-Stout.
