RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The No. 10 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (3-3-0, 0-1-0) fell to UW-River Falls (5-1-0, 1-0-0) in the conference opener by a 5-1 final.
Dawson Sciarrino (Greensburg, Pa.) got the Pointers on the board first with a tally off a faceoff at 16:13 of the first period.
Andrew Poulias (Whitby, Ont.) had the assist on the goal.
The Falcons scored twice within 14 seconds in the final minute of the first to take a 2-1 lead to intermission.
Neither team scored in the second and UWRF got three goals in the third period to seal the win.
UWSP goaltender
Ryan Maguire (Ridgefield, Conn.) had 20 saves. UWRF goaltender Brennan Boynton made 19 saves in the win.
The Pointers will host UW-Superior on Saturday (Nov. 23) at 7:00 p.m. in the first home conference game of the season.
