STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (6-5-5, 3-1-1) secured a bid in the WIAC Tournament with a 1-0 win over visiting UW-Oshkosh (2-11-2, 1-4-0) in the regular season home finale on Wednesday.
 
Senior 
Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch) tried her best to put UWSP ahead in the first half. She hit the cross bar in the 18th minute. Less than four minutes later, Dunn hit the same spot on the cross bar again.
 
In the 49th minute, Dunn set up the go-ahead goal. She centered a feed to 
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West), who dropped the ball at the feet of 
Kayce Wadas (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove). Wadas fired a shot into the net for her first career goal, the eventual match-winner.
 
Borchardt hit the post in the 84th minute with a shot, the third narrow miss of the match by the Pointers.
 
Erika Panella (Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine) made three saves in net for the shutout win, her sixth clean sheet of the season. UWO goalkeeper Emma Sauriol had one save.
 
The Pointers head to UW-Platteville on Saturday (Oct. 26) in the penultimate regular season match. Kick off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
