LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's Tennis team fell at UW-La Crosse in league play, 9-0, before dropping a 4-3 decision to UW-Superior.
The Pointers won the team doubles point as the No. 1 duo of
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) and
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) won, 6-4, and No. 2 team of
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) and
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) got a 6-1 win versus UWS.
Jantz won her No. 1 singles match against the Yellowjackets, 6-3, 6-2. Steier got the win, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.
Kunze won five games in each set at No. 2 singles against Superior. Scharf also won five games in each set at No. 3 singles.
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) won four games at No. 5 singles.
Against UWL, Jantz won three games in each set at No. 1 singles. Steier also won three games in each set at No. 4. Kunze and Scharf each won three games.
Morgan Milan (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) won two games at No. 6 singles.
The Pointers head to Minnesota on Saturday (Oct. 19) for a matchup at Hamline. First serve is slated for 11:00 a.m.
