Moberg, Moline Score for Pointers in Weekend Opener Versus Stout

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 6 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (14-5-1, 8-2-0) opened a weekend series against UW-Stout (8-10-2, 6-4-0) with a 3-2 loss.
 
Isaac Moberg (St. Paul, Minn.) got the Pointers on the board at 19:47.2 of the first period. His unassisted goal came off a faceoff win and was a shorthanded tally.
 
The Blue Devils tied the game at 9:38 of the second period. Just under four minutes later, Stout took a 2-1 lead that held through the second period.
 
Cody Moline (North Branch, Minn.) pulled the Pointers level at 2-2 at the 3:07 mark of the third period. Brett Humberstone (Kingston, Ont.) and Evan Junker (Elk River, Minn.) provided helpers on the tying goal.
 
At 12:31, the Blue Devils regained the lead on a controversial no-call.
 
UWSP goaltender Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) was pulled in favor of the extra attacker for the final 1:10, but the Pointers were unable to find an equalizer. Proctor had 14 saves. Stout goaltender Dawson Green made 30 saves.
 
The Pointers and Blue Devils wrap up the season series on Saturday (Jan. 27) at K.B. Willett Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
