4x400 Relay Team Leads Men’s Track & Field to Third at “Squig” Converse Invite

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team took third at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational on Friday. The Pointers scored 76.5 points, sliding past fourth-place MSOE with a score of 69 points.
 
Results
 
The 4x400 relay team of Quinn Greer (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn), Bradley Brewer, Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West) and Aiden Leist (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) earned the Pointers lone first-place finish on the day with a time of 3:27.73.
 
Mead took second in a closely contested 400-meter dash with a time of 50.38.
 
Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) managed a third-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.63.
 
In the jumps, Cade Ravenscroft (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) and Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) each earned a third-place finish. Ravenscroft tied his previous mark from the week prior in the high jump with a height of 1.95 meters (6' 4.75"). Lillquist earned his best mark of the season in the triple with a distance of 14.06 meters (46' 1.50").
 
In the throws, Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) continued his impressive season taking third in the shot put with a throw of 15.36 meters (50' 4.75") and took sixth in the weight throw with a heave of 15.70 meters (51' 6.25").
 
The UWSP multis will complete the remainder of their events and the UWSP women will compete at UW-Whitewater's Invite on Saturday (Jan. 28). Events start at 12:00 p.m.
