MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (5-13-1) rallied three times to earn a 3-3 tie at Concordia (Wis.) (8-10-1) on Monday.
The Falcons scored at 4:49 of the first to take the early lead.
Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) tied the game at 1-1 at the 12:00 mark of the first.
Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and
Hailey Stanius (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake Area) had assists on the goal.
CUW regained the lead at 14:00 of the first and held a 2-1 lead after one period of play.
Katie Stanius (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake) scored the only goal of the second period at the 3:02 mark.
Sara Aadalen (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) and
Kayla Stumo (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) had helpers on the tally.
The Falcons broke the tie at 14:39 of the third period putting the Pointers down a goal for the third time in the game.
In the final minute of play,
Annika Horman (Appleton, Wis./North) netted the game-tying goal at 19:24.8 of the third to pull UWSP even at three. Her goal was unassisted.
Neither team scored in overtime although the Pointers had their only power play of the game.

Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) had 36 saves, including two in overtime. CUW goaltender Carolyn Bourgeault made five saves in overtime and 39 on the game.
The Pointers return home to close out the season series against UW-Eau Claire. Puck drop at K.B. Willett Arena is set for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 27).
