DUBUQUE, Iowa – Freshman
Nora Lee (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) scored her first collegiate goal for the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (0-3-0) as the Pointers fell at Dubuque (1-2-0) by a 4-1 final in non-conference action on Wednesday.
The Pointers trailed early as the host Spartans scored in the third minute of action. UWSP goalkeeper
Savannah Reed (Waukegan, Ill./St. Joseph Catholic Academy) made one first-half save and held the Pointers within one at the break.
Lee pulled UWSP level just 1:22 into the second half with her first career tally. Her goal was unassisted.
In the 49th minute, UD went ahead again. The Spartans tacked on two more goals a minute apart in the 55th and 56th minutes for the 4-1 lead.
Redd made one additional save before
Anna Tuuri (Marion, Iowa/Marion) entered for her collegiate debut in net. Tuuri made two saves and did not allow a goal in 18 minutes of play.
The Pointers return home to face Hamline on Friday (Sept. 8) at Point Soccer Bowl. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
