STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team is slotted at fifth place as a team after the first day of action at the Mad Dawg Invitational. They accumulated 184 points in nine holes of golf and sit four strokes back from fourth-place UW-Stout.

Top UWSP Individual: Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) currently sits as the Pointers top finisher after round one as she shot a 44 on the day. She rests tied for 13th with six fellow golfers.
Notables: Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) finished the day in the top-20 as she sits tied for 20th after having shot a 45 in round one.
Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) followed up Downie finishing one stroke behind her with a 46 on day one as she is tied for 23rd. Rounding out the Pointers in the top-30 is
Rae Barwick (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) who finished day one tied for 28th after she shot a 49.
Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) finished round one tied for 44th, posting a 55 on the day.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Illinois Wesleyan currently holds first place as they have the top finisher in round one and four other golfers who sit within the top-15. The team shot a collective 160 and hold a five-stroke advantage over UW-La Crosse.
Top Individual: Macy Ludwig of Illinois Wesleyan currently sits as the Mad Dawg Invite's leader after round one. She shot a 38 on the day holding a one-stroke lead over two other golfers including her teammate Jacque O'Neill.
