KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team finished in 17th place as a team after the second day of action at the Midwest Region Classic. They accumulated 344 points to secure a placement within the top 20 in a 33-team field.

Top UWSP Individual: Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) remained the front of the Pointers golfers, wrapping up round two tied for 28th as she shot a 79 (+7). She managed to shave three strokes off of her round one total to move into the top 30.
Notables: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) remained consistent as she shot another 86 on the day (+14) to finish tied for 83rd.
Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) added eight strokes to her totals as she shot a 91 (+19) to finish tied for 91st. Rounding out the Pointers was
Rae Barwick (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) and
Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) who each finished tied for 99th. Barwick shot an 89 (+17) in round two while Marshall shot a 90 (+18).
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-Whitewater managed to pull out a victory and take sole possession of first place as they combined for a score of 305 in round two. They finished with the top overall finisher and one of the golfers tied for second and ninth place.
Top Individual: Kallie Lux of UW-Whitewater took first place as she matched her round one score of a 74 (+2).
Up next: The Pointers will return home to host the annual Mad Dawg Invite at SentryWorld on Saturday (Sept. 30).
