STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point athletics has announced the addition of Shea Stanton as the new Athletics Communications Specialist. Stanton will assist in the day-to-day promotion of UWSP's 26 athletics programs along with Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Tim Bohn.
"I am thrilled to have Shea joining the staff," stated Bohn. "His background, experience and enthusiasm towards joining the Pointers family is a welcome addition."
Stanton comes to UWSP after spending last year at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. There, he helped in a variety of capacities with W&J's 26 athletic programs.
"I want to thank Tim Bohn and the entirety of the athletic department for this opportunity," said Stanton. "I am very excited to join the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point family! I look forward to promoting all of the Pointers' success this year on and off the field."
Prior to arriving at W&J, Stanton worked in the Sports Communication office at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Among his duties was being the primary contact for the IUP baseball team.
His experience includes working with statistical programs Stat Crew and NCAA Live Stats and website management through Sidearm's content management system at both W&J and IUP. He also has worked with Adobe products and social media platforms.
A native of Honesdale, Pa., Stanton holds a bachelor's degree in physical education and sport under the sport management track with a minor in marketing from IUP. Stanton has been involved in sports in some working capacity since 2014.
