UWSP Men’s 4x4 Victorious as Pointers Compete at Two Meets

The UWSP Track and Field men's 4x400 meter relay teams won at both the Eagle Open in La Crosse and St. Francis Fighting Chance in Joliet, Ill. No team scores were kept at either meet.

In Illinois, the quartet of Braedon Gilles (Middleton, Wis./Middleton), Quinn Greer (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn), Brad Brewer (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West) clocked in at 3:18.03 to win the 4x400-meter relay event. In La Crosse, Josh Jumbeck, Zach Brandenburg (Kronenwetter, Wis./D.C. Everest), Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) and Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) took first in the 4x400-meter relay.
 
Mike Brown (Butternut, Wis./Butternut) placed second in the 5000-meter run at UWL. Ian Klein (New Berlin, Wis./West) also finished second in La Crosse in the high jump.
 
On the women's side, Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot), Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah), Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) and Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland) placed third in the 4x400-meter relay in Illinois.
 
Catie Gage (Janesville, Wis./Parker) crossed the line third in the 5000-meter run invitational.
 
The Pointers will compete in Illinois again on Saturday (May 13) in the second day of the St. Francis Fighting Chance.
