ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point men's golf team put together its two-round tournament of the season at the 2023 Viking Invitational. UWSP shot a season-low 300 on Friday and followed that up with a round of 305 on Saturday to take third at the seven-team tournament.

Top UWSP Individual:  Ethan Mehlberg (Junction City, Wis./Wisconsin Valley Lutheran) shot a 75 in both rounds to tie for sixth to finish seven shots off the lead.
Notables: Josh Brogren (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) and Drew Willeman (Osceola, Wis./Osceola) were one shot back of Mehlberg to tie for eighth. Ethan Roehm (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright) posted two rounds in the 70s as well with a 74 on Friday and a 79 on Saturday to tie for 13th. Nine of UWSP's 10 scoring rounds by individuals were in the 70s on the weekend.
  
Tournament Highlights  
Top Team: Wartburg took the lead on day two and won the tournament by two strokes over St. Ambrose, 594 to 596.
Top Individual:  Nick Lechtenberg of Wartburg College maintained his -1 score on day two and won by four strokes.
