JANESVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team moved up a spot to finish ninth in the 14 team field after the second round of the UWW Spring Invite was completed on Saturday.

Tournament: UWW Spring Invite 
Location: Riverside Golf Club, Janesville, Wis. 
UWSP: 9th of 14
Top UWSP Individual: Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) tied for 20th to lead the Pointers. She shot a 170 for the tournament and dropped six strokes off her first round in round two.
Notables: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) and Andrea Tietz (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) each lowered their second round score, both shooting five strokes better in round two than in the first round.

Tournament Highlights  
Top Team: UW-Whitewater won the event with a score on 620, 10 shots better than Aurora.
Top Individual:  UWW's Ellie Johnson shot a two-round score of 147 to take the individual title by four strokes.
Up next: UWSP will close out the spring at the 2023 Viking Invitational in Rock Island, Ill., beginning on Friday (April 28).
