WHEATON, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team split matches by the same 7-2 scores. UWSP won against North Park and fell against host, Wheaton.
Faith Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) went 2-0 at No. 3 singles on the day. She cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win against NPU. She needed a tiebreak versus Wheaton prevailing 4-6, 6-4 (10-6).
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) was also undefeated at No. 6 singles. She had little trouble with a 6-1, 6-0 win versus North Park. Against Wheaton, she took the first set 7-6 (6) before finishing with a 6-0 set two win.
UWSP's No. 2 doubles team of
Barbara Covek (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and
Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) won 8-0 against NPU.
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) and
Grace Henes (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) won at No. 3 doubles by an 8-0 final as well.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) won at No. 2 singles with a 7-5, 7-5 score against the Vikings.
Chloe Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) took a 7-5, 6-3 win at No.5 singles versus NPU. Covek rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles against North Park.
The Pointers will conclude the regular season at home on Saturday (April 22) with an 11:00 a.m. match against Edgewood.
