The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams sent athletes to the Ripon Qualifier and the Wartburg Qualifier on Saturday. A number of athletes also competed against club teams at home in an event where times, heights and/or distances didn't count.

In Ripon,
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) won the shot put with a distance of 15.33 meters (50' 3.50").

Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) also had a first-place finish in the high jump. She cleared a height of 1.61 meters (5' 3.25").

Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) took second in the high jump with a leap of 1.92 meters (6' 3.50").

In the women's shot put,
Makenzie Lueck (Walworth, Wis./Big Fort) took fourth and
Guadalupe Corn (Keshena, Wis./Menominee Indian) was fifth with throws of 12.50 meters (41' 0.25") and 12.30 meters (40' 4.25"), respectively.

At Wartburg, the relay team of
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot),
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union),
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) and
Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland) ran a time of 3:54.70 in the 4x400-meter relay to take sixth.
