STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point athletics department has announced a partnership with NOCAP Sports, a premiere service in aiding collegiate student-athletes in enhancing their opportunities in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) market.
NOCAP Sports is a platform that provides resources for student-athletes to work with brands and enable them to form comprehensive and successful partnerships. Student-athletes can join the platform free of charge, create their profile and become eligible to build their brand.
"The centralized ability for UWSP student-athletes to capitalize on their name, image and likeness is a significant step forward," stated UWSP Director of Athletics Brad Duckworth. "Unfortunately, most of the national media exposure surrounding NIL has centered on NCAA Division I major institutions with deals ranging in the millions. However, the vast majority NIL opportunities have consisted of much smaller compensation levels for promotional work. I am thrilled to support our student-athletes' entrepreneurial efforts. NOCAP Sports provides a platform for UWSP student-athletes to secure partnerships, a safe connection point for businesses and individuals interested in working with our student-athletes and includes terrific compliance measures. While NIL is new to NCAA athletes it is here to stay and I am very pleased with the ease and credibility of the NOCAP Sports platform."
Every UWSP student-athlete can create a profile on the marketplace, which they can customize and promote to fans on their personal social media channels. Pointers student-athletes will have the ability to review opportunities and agree to deals that will allow them to capitalize on their name, image and likeness.
