STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams won seven events at the Big Dawg Invite on Saturday. UWSP's women won with 151.5 points while the men took third with 145.5 points.
Results
For the women,
Mackenzie Johnson (Cumberland, Wis./Cumberland) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.61.
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) ran the only sub-one minute time in the 400-meter dash. Her time was 59.97.
Paige Allemann (Waumandee, Wis./Cochrane-Fountain City) cruised to victory in the 800-meter run. Her winning time of 2:23.70 was nearly 10 seconds faster than the runner-up.
Madeline Zirbel (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) took first place in the high jump. She cleared the bar at 1.58 meters (5' 2.25").
On the men's side,
Caleb Carter (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) won the long jump with a distance of 6.41 meters (21' 0.50").
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) took first in the high jump with a winning height of 1.97 meters (6' 5.50".
In the shot put,
Austin Rennhack (Columbus, Wis./Columbus) recorded a distance of 15.12 meters (49' 7.25") to win the event.
The Pointers travel to Whitewater on Saturday (Feb. 11) for the Midwest Invitational. Action begins at 11:00 a.m.
